When We Go To Venus (2021) is a visual exploration of the body and hair. Venus is the planet of adoration; the planet of love. When we step out of our physical selves into Venus, we easily discover it’s treasures. Love sometimes is incredibly hard to find, but through time I’ve come to love my hair and body for all that it is.
With the help of Lidya Dereje, Jalen Dedeaux, Mychael Hall, Munir Yusuf, Zelda Tabe, Tamara Sumer, Nia Dean, Jacqueline Lamothe, Xernona Okungu, Asia Cladd, Celisse Pompey, and Virgil Moore for being the subjects of this project. Very special thanks to Cedric Sumner for location planning.
